Korea Flora: Deciduous tree. Height 15m. Diameter 1m. Fruit catkins very long (10-16cm), with (48)50-60(72) bracts, more numerous than in Carpinus laxiflora.

Flowering period: Late April to early May
Fruiting period: Mid-October to early November
Distribution: Korean endemic species, Mt. Jogyesan and Mt. Naejangsan in Jeollanam-do

Taxonomic notes: Carpinus tschonoskii specimens are occasionally observed on Mt. Hallasan, Jeju Island.
