Japan Occurrence DATA

Managers:
Description:

This project comprises a collection of georeferenced data that is currently disorganized, making up approximately 40% of the materials previously submitted to GBIF by Japanese museums.

The total dataset contains around 1.8 million records, providing valuable insights into the distribution of Japanese vascular plants.

The data is intended to facilitate the distribution of species, serving as an intermediate step in the organization of East Asian species-centric data. It is meant only for scientific purposes. It is important to note that many records in the Japanese-published data lack information such as collector, date, or place of collection. Furthermore, due to the absence of a database, there are many errors in scientific names and other data, resulting in relatively low data quality.

Korea Historical collections DATA

Managers: C.S. Chang
Description:

The aim of this project is to share organized data and carry out an online project. The disclosed data includes data mining on North Korea that was conducted by TB Lee herbarium (SNUA) over the past 13 years, as well as specimens, documents, and other excavated materials held in SNUA. While the majority of the data is limited to South Korea, it also includes North Korean data from before 1945. The project seeks to disclose high-quality data on vascular plants found on the Korean Peninsula.
