Korea Flora: Deciduous shrub to 3m tall. Young branches tomentose, pith hollow.Leaves opposite, long-spathulate, elliptic or lanceolate, 6-10cm long; apex acuminate-cuneate; adaxially nearly glabrous, abaxially tomentose; margins entire; petioles 5-8mm long, tomentose.Flowers axillary; peduncles 10-20mm long, minutely pubescent, erect, bearing 2 flowers. Bracts slender, 2cm long, exceeding calyx, pubescent; bracteoles ovate, glabrous or margin glandular-ciliate. Corolla 15-18mm long, glabrous outside, changing from white to yellow, base warty, upper lip divided to middle. Stamens shorter than petals; filaments and style pubescent.Fruit ovaries separate, glabrous; fruit globose, red or yellowish-red, separate.

Chromosome number: 2n = 18.
Flowering May-June
Fruiting September-October.
Distribution: Northeastern China, Russian Far East; Pyeongannam-do, Pyeonganbuk-do, Hamgyeongbuk-do, and Hamgyeongnam-do.
