Japan Flora: Stems rather slender; leaves 10-20, flat, distichous, relatively dense, lanceolate, 2-4 cm. long, 4-6 mm. wide, obtuse, mucronate, gradually narrowed toward the base; peduncles slender, 2-4 cm. long, 2- to 5-flowered, with a small scale near the middle, the bracts broadly ovate, spreading, about 3 mm. long; flowers pale yellow; sepds narrowly oblong, 7-8 mm. long, obtuse; petals narrowly spathulatc-oblong, slightly shorter than the sepals; lip shallowly 3-Iobed, the lateral lobes spreading, the terminal lobe obsolete; column short; capsules cylindric, nearly sessile, 4-5 cm. long, about 3.5 mm. wide. Apr.-May.
