Japan Flora: Plant up to 1.5 cm tall. Horizontal branches yellowish-green, creeping, repeatedly dichotomously branched, forming loose tufts. Branches flattened. Perennial stems carmine-red. Dorsal phyllodia arranged in 2 rows, appressed, oval, almost flat, 1.2 mm long, 0.6-0.7 mm wide, awned. Lateral phyllodia somewhat larger, spreading, with margins curved downward, with auricles, upper margin of the phyllodium and auricle sinuate-dentate, ciliate. Strobiloid 1 cm long, rising. Sporophylloids arranged in 4 rows, smaller than phyllodia, keeled. (Table II).

Ussuri — Dry rocky slopes in river valleys. VIII-IX. — General distribution: Japan-China (Manchuria).
