Japan Flora: Rhizomes very short, ascending, the scales minute, dark brown, ovate, about 0.5 mm. long, obtuse, sparsely ciliate; fronds with scattered, slender, spreading pale hairs; stipes slender, 1-1.5 cm. long; blades firmly herbaaous, linear, 5-18 cm. long, 5-8 mm. wide, obtuse to acute, pinnately divided; pinnae obliquely spreading, ovate to ovate-oblong, obtuse, decurrent on the rachis, with 1-3 teeth or short lobules on the anterior and sometimes also on the posterior margin; costa and veins more or less distinct; sori round, 2-5 on a pinna, solitary on each tooth or lobe. Mossy rocks in mountains.
Honshu (Musashi and Kii to Yamato Prov.), Kyushu; very rare.
