Japan Flora: Chiefly in the deltoid tripinnate blades, the pinnae broadly lanceolate, 4-5 cm. wide, the lowest ones petiolate, the lower pinnules sessile, contracted at base; stipes pale brown, smooth, lustrous, very short-pilose; blades deltoid to deltoid-ovate, 20-35 cm. long, 15-28 cm. wide, long-acuminate; pinnae about 10 pairs, nearly horizontally spreading, lanceolate to oblong, caudate-acuminate; pinnules lanceolate, acute or obtuse, pin- nately parted to obtusely toothed, decurrent in the upper ones, shortpilos beneath; sori in 2 series, between the costule and margin of the pinnules; indusia orbicular-reniform, pilose.
