It is a tall evergreen tree that grows in the subalpine belt. It reaches a height of approximately 30 meters. Leaves are linear, about 10-13mm long and 1.5mm wide, with a four-sided to diamond-shaped cross-section. It blooms from May to June, and its spherical cone ripens in October. The cone is stalkless, hanging downward, and has an oval-shaped cylindrical form, measuring 3-6cm in length.
Out of the 11 mesh areas, the current status of one mesh is unknown. There are several individuals in three mesh areas and several tens of individuals in seven mesh areas, totaling an estimated 200 individuals. The average reduction rate is about 30%. Deforestation and vegetation changes are the main causes of the decrease [EN].
