Japan Flora: Long-creeping herb, brownish hairy on the stems, petioles, and flowers; leaves reniform-orbicular or ovate-cordate, 1-2 cm. in diameter, pubescent while young, rounded to retuse, mucro­nate, entire, black-dotted and striate, the petioles 5-15 mm. long; calyx-segments oblanceolate, obtuse, 5-6 mm. long; corolla yellow, 8-10 mm. across, about 1.5 times as long as the calyx, the lobes ovate-oblong, the pedicels 2-3.5 cm. long. June-Aug.

Honshu (Kii Prov.), Shikoku, Kyushu; rare.
