Japan Flora: Tree; branchlets reddish brown and slightly glaucous, glabrous or nearly so on main axis, usually glandular-pubescent in the lateral, the pulvini prominent; leaves 8-12 mm. long, thickish, acute or obtuse, sometimes slighdy curved, with 2 whitish prominent stoma tai bands above and 2 faint bands beneath; cones short-cylindric, 4-10 cm. long, pale brown, the scales rounded, denticulate. Mountains.

Honshu (Yatsugatake); rare.
