Tree up to 25m and 75 cm in diameter, winter bud oval, grayish, glabrous, resinous, branchlets pubescent in the shallow grooves; leaves linear, 12-23mm × 1.5-1.8mm, rounded to emarginate, with 2 rather narrow stomatal bands beneath, resin canals medium; pollen cones cylindric, about 10mm long, ssed cones 45mm × 8mm, purple, mature seed cones oval lanceolate, , 4-5.5cm × 20-25mm, the scales (9)12(14)mm ×15mm, cuspidate, exserted, straight.
