Japan Flora: Acaulescent with appressed white-pubescence on petioles and lower part of peduncles; stipules softly scarious, rusty brown, 1-  or 2-nerved, elliptic, rounded at apex, glabrescent, ciliate, the leaflets 9-15, obtuse, about 1 cm. long, 2-3 mm. wide; peduncles blackish pubescent on upper part, 2-flowered, the bracts narrowly ovate; flowers bluish purple; calyx blackish pubescent, the teeth lanceolate, about 3 mm. long, the tube about 6 mm. long; ovary with white hairs on the sides and black hairs on the ventral margin; legumes about 3 cm. long, about 1 cm. across, with a short included stipe. July. Alpine regions.

Hokkaido (Hidaka mountain range); rare.
