Japan Flora: Erect stiff perennial; stems slender, sparsely short white appressed-pilose; stipules subulate, small; leaflets oblanceolate to narrowly obovate, 10- 15 mm. long, 25-6 mm. wide, rounded to retuse, pilose beneath; chasmogamic flowers 7-8 mm. long, yellowish white, with a purple blotch on the standard, several in fascicles in leafaxils; calyx 4-5 mm. long with lanceolate, bristly-acuminate lobes; cleistogamic flowers several in leaf-axils; calyx 3-4 mm. long, the lobes lanceolate, 3-ribbed; legumes broadly ovate, pilose, about 3 mm. long.
