Korea Flora: Deciduous shrub, 2m tall. Branchlets pubescent. Leaves alternate, elliptic or spatulate, acuminate apex, cuneate or broadly cuneate base, 3-4cm × 1-2cm; serrate margins in the upper half, occasionally 3-lobed. Upper surface glabrous or sparsely pubescent; lower surface densely covered with yellowish-brown hairs or sometimes glabrous. Petioles 2-3mm long. Inflorescences umbellate; glabrous. Flowers 5-8mm in diameter, white; calyx lobes erect; stamen length similar to corolla. Each inflorescence bears 20-25 flowers. Pedicels 5-12mm long. Fruits follicles, occasionally pubescent along the double vascular bundles.
Chromosome number: 18, 36. Flowering: Late May to late June. Fruiting: Early September to mid-October. Distribution: Northern China, Northeastern Three s, southern Far East Russia; South and Hamgyeongbukdo s, South and North Pyeongan s to Gyeongsangbuk (Korea).
