: Habit: Evergreen perennial herb; rhizome thick and short; leaves fasciculate at apex.
Stipe: 20-50 cm long, densely scaly.
Scales: Dark brown to black; apex acute; filiform; becoming narrower and shorter upwards.
Blade: Broadly ovate, 30-60 cm × 20-40 cm; apex abruptly narrowed; adaxial surface glossy.
Pinnae: Linear-lanceolate; gradually tapering from middle.
Pinnules: Upper ones directly attached to rachis, lower ones shortly stalked. Lower Blade: Tripinnate. Ultimate Segments: Margins slightly serrate.
Sori: Medial; indusia sometimes with marginal hairs.
Habitat: Growing in mountain forests.
Note: Distinguished by its glossy upper surface and filiform dark scales.
