Russia Flora: Plant up to 40 cm high, with or without 1 brownish sheath at the base. Stem straight, thin, with 2 well-developed lower leaves and 2-4 small upper leaves, glabrous. Lower leaves up to 13 cm long and 5 cm wide, oblong-lanceolate, obtuse, with stem-clasping petioles; upper leaves up to 2 cm long and up to 0.4 cm wide, linear-lanceolate, sheathing, acute . Inflorescence up to 9 cm long and 1.7 cm wide, cylindrical. Bracts similar to the upper leaves, the lower ones longer, and the upper ones shorter than the flowers. Upper lobe of the outer perianth whorl up to 2.5 mm long, obtuse, rounded-ovate; lateral ones up to 3 mm long, oblong-ovate. Lateral lobes of the inner perianth whorl up to 3 mm long, oblong.
