Russia Flora: Plant 5-15 cm tall, with short dark-brown root crown and rosette of leaves that die off in winter. Leaf blades 2-5 cm long, 3-6 cm wide, broadly triangular, three-lobed; lobes broadly ovate or rounded, entire-margined, obtuse, rarely shortly pointed; base with notch, dark green on upper surface, glaucous-green with purple tinge on lower surface. Petioles 2-4 cm long. Young leaves densely pubescent (especially below) with short simple hairs, later sparsely pubescent. Peduncles axillary, straight or curved, densely pubescent, with 3 (rarely up to 6) ovate bracts arranged below flower in form of cup. Flowers solitary, 2-2.5 cm in diameter. Perianth segments (5)6(10), pink, white, rarely bluish-pink. Nutlets up to 5 mm long, 1.5 mm wide, oblong-elliptical, velvety pubescent, with short (about 1 mm) style and fleshy appendage - elaiosome, 0.5 mm in diameter. 2n = 14. (Probatova, Sokolovskaya, 1988).
Distribution: Ussuri (southern). (Fig. 23). - In forests, on moderately moist meadows, among shrubs, on humus-rich soils, as well as on rocky slopes. IV-VI. - General distribution: Japanese-Chinese (Northeastern China, Korean Peninsula). - Described from Korean Peninsula.
