Japan Flora: Plant very small; rhizomes capillary, branched and intricate, dark brown villous; fronds inter­rupted; stipes 1-2 cm. long, about as thick as the rhizomes, pale green, nearly glabrous on the upper half, densely dark brown hairy at base; blades flabellate, 5-12 mm. long, 7-15 mm. wide, cordate to truncate, rarely broadly cuneate at base, subglabrous, palmately and irregularly parted to lobed, the segments hnear, 0.5-1 mm. wide, entire, very obtuse; indusia few, tubular, dilated at apex, entire, obscurely papillose on margin.
