Japan Flora: Stems 40-60 cm. long, 4-angled, glabrous or thinly pubescent at base; leaves thinly membranous, ovate to oblong-ovate, acute to acuminate, rounded to broadly cuneate at base, glabrous on both sides or rarely thinly pubescent above and on nerves be­neath, doubly toothed, petiolate; cymes forming a loose termi­nal panicle, scattered glandular-pilose, the pedicels slender, 1-2 (-3) cm. long; calyx-lobes ovate or broadly so, obtuse to sub­acute; capsules 6-7 mm. long, globose, abruptly acute. 

Honshu (Tokaido Distr. and westw.), Shikoku, Kyushu.
