Japan Flora: Rhizomes short; stipes spreading, slender, 1-4 cm. long, pale green, the scales brown, narrowly lanceolate to linear, about 2 mm. long, entire; blades thinly herbaceous, lanceolate to linear-lanceolate, 3-7 cm. long, 8-12 mm. wide, acute, slightly narrowed at base, simply pinnate, the rachis slender, green, with brown linear scales; pinnae 12-17 pairs, spreading, ovate, acute with a mucro at the tip, broadly cuneate at base, with scattered short linear scales on both sides, coarsely mucronate-toothed, the lower ones usually pinnately parted to lobed; sori 1 to few on a pinna, between the costa and the margin; indusia membranous, orbicular- reniform, about 1 mm. across, deeply erose-dentate. Rocks in high mountains.
Honshu (s. Shinano Prov. and w. Mu- sashi Prov.); very rare.
