Japan Flora: Nearly glabrous perennial; stems 20-40 cm. long, erect, sometimes branched, slender, green, the internodes short, puberulent; leaves many, ovate-oblong, obtuse, acute at base, the lateral nerves few, obscure, the petioles to 1.5 mm. long; verticils 2-6, forming a short spike, the pedicels longer than the calyx; calyx about 2.5 mm. long, glabrous, glandular-dotted, the teeth del­toid-ovate, erect, obtuse; corolla pale purple, 3.5 mm. long, the tube slightly longer than the calyx; nutlets about 0.8 mm. long, elliptic, slightly flattened, very broadly cuneate and mucronate at the base. Aug.-Oct. Wet places in lowlands to moun­tains.

Hokkaido, Honshu.
