Japan Flora: Fronds ovoid-hemispherical, nearly flat above, convex beneath, more or less margined, about 0.7 mm. long, producing lateral gemmae from one end of the frond, with­out roots and nerves. 

Honshu (vicinity of Tokyo).  Cosmopolitan.
