Russia Flora: Plants up to 35 cm tall. Tubers compressed, 2-4-divided. Stem hollow. Leaves 3-4(5), up to 12 cm long and 4 cm wide, broadly lanceolate, bluntish, finely spotted on both sides, upper leaves smaller and narrower, exceeding inflorescence base. Inflorescence up to 10 cm long and 3 cm wide, dense, short-cylindrical. Bracts lanceolate, pointed, more or less violet and spotted, lower ones longer than flowers, upper ones equal to them. Flowers violet-purple or violet-pink. Outer perianth segments oblong-ovate, blunt, up to 7 mm long. Two segments of inner whorl unequal-sided, ovate-lanceolate, blunt, up to 5.5 mm long. Lip up to 6 mm long, 6 mm wide, rhombic-broadly oval, entire, blunt, with slightly protruding blunt tip, slightly irregularly crenate on margin. Spur up to 8 mm long and 2 mm thick, conical, bluntish, slightly curved.
