Russia Flora: Stem to 50 cm, stout, ribbed, covered with small white papillae, with 6-8 alternate leaves and basal sheaths. Leaves to 15 × 3 cm, lanceolate, long-acuminate, short-sheathed, margins and veins beneath papillose. Inflorescence to 13 cm, few-flowered. Flowers small, white, erect. Bracts linear to broad-linear, to 7 cm, lower leaf-like to 10 × 1.5 cm, upper linear-subulate, equal to or shorter than ovary. Sepals lanceolate, to 12 mm. Petals shorter and broader. Lip to 8 mm; hypochile with 2 acute lobes, short spur to 1.5 mm; epichile with terminal acute lobe, ridges and hairs, 2 blunt lateral lobes. Column to 7 mm. Capsule to 25 mm. Chromosome number 2n = 30-32.

Distribution: Ussuri (south, central), South Sakhalin, South Kuriles. Open deciduous forests. Flowering June-August. General: Japan-China. Described from Japan.
