Japan flora: Rhizomes short; leaves 3-5, oblanceolate to narrowly oblong, 15-30 cm. long, 1.5-3.5 cm. wide, glabrous, acuminate, narrowed to a short sheath at base; scapes 30-60 cm. long, puberulent in upper part; racemes loosely 5- to 12-flovvered, 15-20 cm. long, the bracts lanceolate, acuminate, 1-2 cm. long, green; sepals spreading, broadly lanceolate, 15-20 mm. long, acuminate; petals linear-lanceolate, 15-17 mm. long, acuminate, narrowed toward the base; lip deltoid-ovate, as long as the sepals, the limb abruptly broadened, shallowly 3-lobed, with crested ridges in the center, the lateral lobes short, ascending-spreading, the terminal lobe quadrangular-ovate, cuspidate, undulate on margins; spur about 5 mm. long. June. Woods;

Hokkaido, Honshu(centr. and n. distr.); rather rare.
