Korea Flora: Rhizome: Thick and short.
Leaves: Densely arranged.
Stipe: 23 cm long; dimorphic scales present: Larger scales: 27 mm × 6-7 mm, membranous  Smaller scales: 2-10 mm × 0.2-0.8 mm, linear
Blade: Lanceolate, up to 80 cm long; rachial hair-like scales caducous. 
Pinnae: Widest below middle, 12 cm long, linear-lanceolate, long-acuminate; segments decurrent at base; adaxial surface glabrous; abaxial surface sparsely pilose along veins. 
Sori: Medial; indusium round-reniform, ca. 1 mm in diameter, glabrous.
Habitat: In Picea jezoensis and Larix forests of Botae-dong, North Hamgyong Province.
Plant: Height ca. 1 m, similar to Dryopteris but distinguished by wider inter-pinnae spaces and deeper serrations; sharp segments sparsely remaining on posterior rachis.
