Japan Flora: Bulbs broadly ovoid, 5-6 cm. in diameter; leaves strap-shaped, to 60 cm. long, 12-18 mm. wide, glaucous, rather fleshy, lustrous; scapes erect, about 60 cm. long, the involucral bracts 3-5 cm. long, membranous, lanceolate, gradually narrowed above, with a minute obtuse apex; flowers few large, clear yellow, not fragrant, the perianth-segments equal, oblanceolate, acute, ascending, about 8 cm. long, the tube 1.5-2 cm. long, the pedicels 8-15 mm. long; fiilaments slightly exserted, the anthers 3.5-4 mm. long.
