Japan Flora: Rhizomes thick, short, fasciculate; leaves deep green, flat, 30-50 cm. long, 8-12 mm. wide, obtuse, 11- to 15-nerved, narrowed gradually below; scapes 30-50 cm. long,subterete; racemes 公一12 cm. long, many-flowered; flowers few to several in a group, fascicled, the pedicels 2-5 mm. long, jointed at the middle or beneath the flower, the tepals pale purple, about 4 mm. long. Aug.-Oct.

Honshu (Kanto Distr. and westw.), Shikoku, Kynshu. Ryukyus, Formosa, and China.
