Ohwi 1985 Flora of Japan
Japan Red List (2000): It is a small evergreen perennial herb that grows on slightly moist cliffs along rivers in warm mountainous areas. It has short roots and produces 8-25 leaves in a rosette shape. The basal leaves are narrow and spade-shaped, measuring 1.5-6 cm in length. The flowering stem is 4-15 cm long and bears 2-4 white flowers at the tip.

Of the five areas, the current status is unclear for two of them. The estimated total number of individuals is around 700, with dozens of individuals in one area and hundreds in another. While there is no noticeable decline in population, there is concern that deforestation and road construction could lead to a decrease in numbers. [VU]
