Japan Flora: Dark green shrub closely resembling the preceding; leaves somewhat thicker, 5-10 cm. long, 2-4 cm. wide, obtuse to rounded at base, gla-brous on both sides or sparsely appressed-pilose above and short appressed-puberulent on both sides, obtusely toothed, the petioles 1-3 cm. long; staminate glomerules sessile, axillary, the peduncles of the pistillate ones 3-5 mm. long; fruit about 1.5 mm. long. Feb.-Apr.

Honshu (Aogashima in Izu Isis, and Kii Prov.), Shikoku, Kyushu. Ryukyus and Formosa.
