Japan Flora: evergreen, but stouter; blades bipinnate, the rachis usually glabrous and smooth on upper side except near the top; pinnules sessile, oblique, ovate to oblong-ovate, 1-2 cm. long, 6-12 mm. wide, obtuse to subacute, toothed, often lobulate.
Honshu (Awa and Sagami Prov. and westw.), Shikoku, Kyushu; rare.
