Japan Flora: Slightly pubescent twining perennial with slender creeping rhizomes; stems elongate; leaves peti- olate, sagittate or hastate, the lateral lobes (auricles) deflexed, small, ovate, obtuse, rarely with a tooth on inner margin, the main lobe broadly lanceolate to narrowly ovate-deltoid, obtuse to subacute, 5-10 cm. long, 2-7 cm. wide, including the lateral lobes; flowers solitary, long-pedunculate, rose, shorter than the leaves, the bracts ovate, slightly cordate, 2-2.5 cm. long. July-Aug. Thickets and sunny grassy slopes in lowlands;

Hokkaido, Honshu, Shikoku, Kyushu. Korea and China.
