Korea Flora: Deciduous small tree. Height up to 15m. Twigs: Thick and sturdy, reddish when young. Thorns grow loosely or densely and develop irregularly. Leaves alternate, odd-pinnate compound leaves, hairless, 15-30cm long. 19-23 leaflets, sessile (without individual petioles). Leaflet size: 3.5-8cm × 1-1.5(2)cm, lanceolate, with acuminate apex and cuneate base. Glands develop on each serration. Petiole 3cm long. Flowers dioecious. cymes appear at branch tips with numerous flowers. sepals small, petals circular, 2mm long. Fruit distinctly splits into 3 carpels, 5mm in size. Seeds broadly elliptical, 4mm in size.
