var. zentaroana (Nakai) Hatus. Leaves larger and prominently stellate- pubescent beneath. Occurs with the typical phase.
var. ogatae (Koidz.) Ohwi Closely resembles the preceding variety, but the inflorescence is paniculate with more numerous smaller flowers. Shikoku.
