Russia Flora: Plant 3-10 cm tall. Stems prostrate, ascending, with pendulous sinuous branches. Flowers and fruits 2-3 mm long. Perianth segments rapidly narrowing into an elongated, outwardly curved sharp point; inner segments shorter than outer ones. Capsule ovoid-globose, somewhat shorter than the perianth segments. Seeds about 0.2 mm long, spine-like pointed at both ends. (Table III).

Bureya, Amur, Ussuri (northern). — Coastal sandy shoals, mainly in the valley of the Amur River. VII-VIII. — "Amur River, opposite the village of Monglomai, 2 IX 1855, Maximovicz" (type LE).
