Russia Flora: Plant up to 20 cm tall. Stem thin, often arched or even largely sinuous, sometimes branched in the upper part. Phyllodia (leaves) 5-7 mm long, 0.5 mm wide, entire-margined, drawn into a sharp point; in the lower part of the stem deflected downward, in the middle part — almost protruding, at the top — obliquely directed upward. Reproductive buds in the upper half of the stem numerous, 3 mm long. Sporangia broadly reniform (kidney-shaped), 0.5 mm long.

Kamchatka (southern), Northern Sakhalin, Northern Kuril Islands, Ussuri region, Southern Sakhalin, Southern Kuril Islands — Coniferous, coniferous-broadleaf and cedar-broadleaf forests. VI-VIII. — General distribution: Japan-China.
