Japan Flora: Roots tuberous, small; leaf membranous, solitary, basal, erect, oblanceolate-oblong, 15-22 mm. long, 5-7 mm. wide, obtuse, long-attenuate at base; scapes 7.5-9 cm. long, erect, covered at base with leaf-sheaths, the bracts minute; flowers 2-3, 2-2.5 mm. across; dorsal sepal elliptic, obtuse, about 1 mm. long, the lateral sepals slightly reflexed, falcate, oblong, obtuse, irregularly denticulate, about 1.5 mm. long; petals oblique, ovate- rounded, 0.8 mm. long, incurved at tip, narrowed to the base, with minute irregular teeth on margins, forming an open hood with the dorsal sepal; lip ligulate, not spurred, lanceolate, 1.5 mm. long, obtuse, broader at base; column about 1 mm. long. Aug. High mountains;

Honshu (Yatsugatake); very rare.
